Before You Rush Into the Holidays… Pause With Me

Take a moment to pause.
Unclench your jaw.
Drop your shoulders.
Let your to-do list go, just for now.
Take a deep breath and hold the pause for ten slow seconds.

This time of year is a whirlwind.
We’re trying to finish end-of-year tasks, wrap up loose ends, prepare for holiday parties, travel, and still show up for the people we love. It’s one of the busiest seasons layered on top of the pressure of closing out the year well.

But tucked inside the chaos is an invitation: pause and reflect.

Before you step into the last stretch of 2025, ask yourself:

  1. What’s one thing I didn’t think I would survive… but I did?

  2. What’s one accomplishment I’m proud of, even if I never shared it?

  3. What’s one good thing I want to carry with me into 2026?

Look back with kindness.
Look back with honesty.
Look back and recognize the growth, even if it felt small at the time.

Because small growth is still growth.
And it matters.

Engagement Ideas

1.Year-in-Review Memory Board

Do this alone, with your family, friends, or your team. Look through photos, journals, or social media from 2025 and gather the moments that made the year meaningful, joyful, stretching, triumphant, or quietly brave.
You’ll be surprised how far you’ve come.

2. Hug in a Mug Social

Invite a friend (or a group) to grab their favorite cozy mug and warm drink and simply sit together.
Ask an easy icebreaker, “What’s your favorite holiday memory?” and let the conversation flow.
No agenda. No pressure. Just connection.

Two Things I'm Loving

  1. A Christmas Playlist I Can’t Stop Playing
If you’re still enjoying holiday music, this playlist has a perfect mix of classics and fresh favorites. It never gets old.

  2. The Uplift App
I’ve shared it before, and I’m sharing it again because it’s that good. The journaling prompts, the “Get Coached” feature, and the daily devotions are powerful tools for grounding and clarity.
If you haven’t tried it yet, check it out here.
