A Year End Poem for My Managers
Another year is closing,
and before the pages turn,
I want to pause and tell you
what I hope you always learn
That your work is more than deadlines,
more than tasks you check as done.
It’s the quiet ways you show up
for residents, one by one.
The extra mile you walk each day,
the calm you bring to storms,
the way you lead with heart and grit
through chaos and the norms.
I’ve watched you grow with courage,
I’ve seen you stretch and stand—
Strong leaders shaped by challenges
with gentleness in hand.
You’ve built community with care,
offered moments that restore,
created spaces filled with hope
behind each unit door.
And even when the days were long,
you rose and gave your best.
You showed what strength looks like
in service, grace, and rest.
So as this year is wrapping up,
I hope you truly see
How proud I am to walk with you—
what your work means to me.
May this season bring you stillness,
joy that settles in your chest,
and a reminder: you are valued,
you are seen, and you are blessed.
Here’s to growth, grit, and new beginnings.
Here’s to you—
and all the ways you help our communities
feel like home.
